The Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) Program is a rigorous standard for energy-efficient buildings, aiming to reduce ecological footprints through passive construction principles. This program emphasizes thermal insulation, airtight building envelopes, high-performance windows, ventilation with heat recovery, and minimizing thermal bridges. Achieving the PHIUS certification requires meeting a very tight envelope criteria. Green South Energy Solutions was solicited to help achieve air sealing compliance on the very first PHIUS multifamily project in Baltimore, MD.
